Databricks
Data + AI World Tour
Singapore

Our first stop for this year’s Databricks Data + AI World Tour was Singapore, bringing together data architects, engineers, analytics leaders, and AI practitioners for a full day of product announcements, technical sessions, and conversations about where enterprise AI is headed. Syren was represented by Abhishek Kar, VP, Consulting & Growth, and Anmol Hans, Solution Architect.
Why it matters to us
As a Databricks Silver Partner, staying close to the platform’s direction is core to how we advise our clients. Events like this give us an opportunity to see how different pieces of the Databricks ecosystem are coming together and to discuss what that means for enterprises putting AI into production. It’s also a chance to compare notes with other partners, customers, and Databricks teams working through the same challenges around governance, scale, and real-time data.
Key Takeaways
Enterprise context was the theme of the day. A few of the developments we found most significant:
- Lakehouse//RT: Serverless compute built for low-latency, high-concurrency workloads, pushing the Lakehouse closer to real-time application serving without a separate serving layer.
- Genie Ontology: A unified business context layer for the Genie family, combining governed Unity Catalog semantics with context inferred from existing dashboards, queries, and agents.
- Genie One: A simplified, business-user-facing entry point into dashboards, natural-language analytics, and Databricks Apps.
- Unity AI Gateway: A centralized governance layer for AI traffic across models, agents, tools, and MCP servers.
Individually, these are meaningful product updates. Together, they point toward a platform that's expanding from storing and processing data to providing the full context, serving, and governance layer that production AI systems need.

Anmol Hans covered the Singapore stop in depth, breaking down what Lakehouse//RT and Genie Ontology are actually solving for, where Genie One and Unity Gateway fit into the broader picture, and what's worth watching for next.
What's Next
The next stop in the Data + AI World Tour is Mumbai on 7 October 2026, followed by world tours in Chicago, London, and Atlanta.
